FROM THE ALUMNI DIRECTOR
It is my pleasure to
kick off the excitement and anticipation surrounding Siena’s reunion
activities and welcome you back to campus for a weekend to remember. I
hope the new "cluster" format for Reunion Weekend allows you to
connect with classmates as well as graduates in years before and after
you. Please encourage all your Siena friends to return to campus for the
weekend.
While the campus you may remember has changed in many ways, Siena is still
the school you fondly remember. Reunion Weekend is a time to take a trip
down memory lane while enjoying the growth and excellence of campus that
keeps current students engaged just as you were so many years ago. I look
forward to seeing you on campus in June and wish you all the joy and
happiness Reunion Weekend can bring our alumni.

Dear Reunion
Alumni,
Siena College
alumni have always attended their class reunions in impressive numbers, and they
have left Reunion Weekend with memories and friendships strengthened. But when
we asked, "What would make Reunion at Siena even better?" The answer came back
loud and clear: "We have good friends from Siena who are not necessarily in our
class. Is there any way we can reunite with them too?" That's the rationale
behind our new "cluster reunion” concept.
At Reunion
Weekend 2006, June 2-4, class years ending in ’01 and ’06 will be celebrated in
a Cluster Reunion Format. Many of the popular reunion events will be enjoyed:
the golf tournament and nostalgia night on Friday, the President’s Brunch and
Distinguished Alumni Awards on Saturday morning, the Saturday afternoon academic
sessions, family picnic, Alumni Memorial Mass and to cap it all off, the
All-Alumni Bash under the stars Saturday night featuring THE BURNERS UK!
On Friday
night, we will continue the tradition to honor the 50th class at a
special dinner with Siena’s president. Additionally, we will add a new
celebration for the 25th class on Friday night. On Saturday
evening, there will be three dinner parties for various groups of alumni.
Group One -
1942 to 1962
Group Two - 1963 to 1983
Group Three - 1984 to 2005
We hope this
format will strengthen Reunion Weekend by meeting our alumni requests to
reconnect with friends outside of their class years. Our success relies in
you! We need an army of volunteers to assist us with this transition. Will you
consider being on the planning committee?
The planning
committees will meet three or four times over the next 9 months either in person
or via teleconference -your choice- to organize the dinners, formulate plans to
increase attendance, and assist in the reunion giving fund drive. Please
contact the Alumni Relations Office at (518) 783-2430 or
alumni@siena.edu if you are interested in volunteering to plan Reunion
Weekend 2006. We are inviting all the reunion class years (1’s & 6’s) to be
part of the planning. Of special interest are inquiring member of the 1981
class to help plan their 25th celebration. Once we have a good base
of volunteers, we will schedule meetings and conference calls to get the
planning rolling.
I hope to hear
from you soon and look forward to seeing you at Siena’s Reunion Weekend 2006!
Sincerely,
Nathan M. Maloney ’00 Gary
